"Zeeto on the Radio" - Great Music (Americana, Acoustic, Folk, Blues, Folk-Rock,
The Texas Sound, and more - 24/7 and Ad Free!
Early in 1973, I started doing radio on WPKN in Bridgeport, CT. Fifty years later, I'm excited to start this Internet radio station. In those fifty years, I managed the Carriage House Coffee House (hosting Dave Van Ronk, Tom Paxton, Utah Phillips, Pierre Bensusan, a very young Bela Fleck [with Tasty Licks], Bill Staines, Kate Wolf, and many, many others.)
When I left the Carriage House, I created a science show for kids called "Zeeto the Bubbleman". Among my highlights were opening for Shari Lewis; performing on Family Day of the Dr. Seuss exhibit at the Baltimore Museum of Arts; and having Gordon Duncan create his song "Zeeto the Bubbleman".
Performing the bubble show at many schools inspired me to embark on what would become a 27 year teaching career. The bulk of that was helping to create the "Media Department" at Staples High School with my friend Jim Honeycutt. Part of my responsibilities there were to advise WWPT the student radio station. We were honored to win many national awards (including Best High School Radio Station in the country), and I was twice awarded the nation's outstanding faculty advisor (the second time sharing it with Jim).
Through it all, community radio has been my passion. I'm excited about this project. I'm not sure how it will evolve, but I'm happy that you've decided to check it out. Please feel free to contact me with any suggestions, ideas, comments, and criticisms at the email address below.
                                                                          Sincere Thanks,
                                                                                   Zeeto
